Five years ago, Kana Mito debuted with popular mature woman JAV maker, Madonna. She got her beginnings at the age of 32, making her perfect for the “mature woman” studio. There was a time when older women in their thirties and over would be hesitant about becoming a pornstar. They’re not 18 or anything any longer. But, to carve away those negative feelings is the demand and love for older women in the industry.
As Fanza reported, Kana debuted as a newcomer who had eyes all over her. She was transparent in her debut and had pleasurable beauty. Even now, five years later, Kana has remained true to herself in keeping that “innocent girl-like beauty.” To allow us to sift through this innocent beauty is Madonna bringing Kana into their “mature beauty” series on Fanza.
As we begin, Kana is talking about what’s been like, five years later, since becoming a pornstar.

Mito: At first I thought I could either try my best for only three months or keep going forever. However, I was able to find something that I enjoyed every time I was shooting, so this made me rather want to continue… Maybe it’s the fact that every time I go to a shoot, I’m looking for elements that make me feel beautiful about myself, elements that make me feel like I’m a good person. I can find the elements that make men think I’m beautiful in these areas. I thought that feeling was unique to this job, and it made me want to keep doing it.
Mito: Before I made my debut, I was trying to be beautiful as a matter of course. By beautiful, I mean, for example, fixing my makeup when it falls off, or using an armpit sweat sheet to keep armpit sweat from getting on my clothes (laughs). I had to do something to keep it from falling apart and showing my embarrassing parts, it taught me that I didn’t need to do that in order to shoot porn. I think it’s erotic to expose everything and be as you are. And that the erotic part is what makes it beautiful. I feel that my sense of beauty has changed since I became an actress.
Mito: Since this is adult entertainment for men, I was willing to shoot situations that would appeal to men. I noticed a difference in the sense of beauty between men and women. Women like to have their hair done, even during sex. You wonder if you look weird or if you have a fat stomach. But the men were shaking their hair out, their faces contorted in pleasure. I feel erotic and excited by the sight of a slightly flabby, soft-looking belly exposed to the world. That kind of man is erotic! Beautiful! You need to know what it is that men find erotic and beautiful. It was a happy discovery that I was able to find that in myself.
Mito: Yes. I still think that beauty and eroticism are to be known from an objective point of view, not a subjective one. In that sense, we actresses have a lot of opportunities to have more men look at us and know how to be objective. I think it’s easy to refine your beauty and eroticism.
Mito: Hmmm, I’m always aware of sweating. In the mornings or evenings, I’d walk around, pretty well dressed. Soak in the bathtub and sweat it out. After bathing and in the morning, I just put on lotion and serum for body care. I try to keep things as simple as possible.
Mito: After trying many things and realizing that… I thought it was more important to get something out of my skin than to get something in.
Mito: Yes, rather than putting more of something into a slow metabolism and buildup. I think it’s more important to keep your metabolism up. Superficial things on the skin are important, too. At the same time, I am also conscious of improving my internal environment such as my intestinal tract. I felt like it wouldn’t be better if there was something bad building up. It’s like accumulation does not equal endurance. To avoid this, I try to take out as much as I put in.
Mito: That’s right. I want to be as true to my desires as possible. Especially when it comes to men. Especially when you are dealing with a man, even if he doesn’t seem to be conscious of you, you can ask him, “I see you as a man, what do you think?” I’m going to ask you straight to the point.
Mito: Yes, I know. I was afraid that if I said I wanted it, people would think I was being petty. You don’t want people to think you’re obsessed, right? Maybe if she was a woman of a hundred battles. I guess you can make a man say what he wants without saying what you want, or you can control a man to do what you want… but I don’t have that kind of skill. So, if I want people to accept that I don’t have something, I have to say “I want it” myself… (laughs)
Mito: Yes, in the end, I think that is the best thing to do. Being honest with yourself is more important than what others think of you. I feel that it is a matter of acknowledging how I see my partner as a man, and how I feel about him. Women often tend to worry about what the other man thinks of them and what they think of them. You can’t hear what’s going on in their minds, can you? Then I think I should listen to my own heart first. I think that because women are so kind, they tend to care too much about others.
Mito: Yes. I think women are probably more able to live up to their desires. I think it’s more common for a man to ask a woman out and be rejected than for a woman to ask a man out and be rejected.
Mito: Yes, it’s sad, isn’t it? But instead of feeling sad, my heart was shaken thinking about that person. I think it’s more important that I was given the stimulation of a crush in some small way. This is because I feel that the encounter added something to my beauty. So I’m rather grateful. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be beautiful.
Mito: Maybe women are less likely to be struck by the romantic aspect and the meeting of the sexes. But…I don’t think there is such a thing as a perfect person who has never experienced any failure in dating. Being obsessed with one thing might just make you suffer. I’ve already accepted that I’m not perfect, and I’m not going to be too hard on myself. I wonder if I’m just living up to my desires.
A unique outlook on love or the essence of love. Even if it doesn’t go anywhere, to Kana Mito, she still appreciates that it existed for that moment. Everything, in some way, adds to how beautiful she is because it’s natural. It’s been exposed.
When we return with Kana, she’ll be taking us through important dates on her “life graph.”
