Tsukasa Aoi: 11th Anniversary

Tsukasa Aoi (Fanza)

Exciting news is surfacing in the JAV industry today as we’re celebrating two anniversaries of long-standing members. There’s also a big event coming in Japan to celebrate one of the anniversaries.

This year marks 15-years since the actress office “Eight Man” came into the industry. We are also celebrating 11-years of everyone’s favorite short-haired, slender woman, Tsukasa Aoi. Both of these areas, the office, and the actress, are celebrating momentous moments in their JAV careers. As we get into the meat of the article, you’ll be hearing from Tsukasa Aoi as she’s interviewed by Fanza for her 11th-anniversary.

Actress offices are essentially the “agency” they belong to. This is where they have their managers and then go after potential movie offers from studios if they are not exclusive. Eight Man is playing home to literally eight women in the JAV industry including Tsukasa AoiNene Yoshitaka, and Mei Washio to name a few.

Eight Man has already begun preparations for their celebratory photo exhibition in Shibuya, Japan titled “8 woman.” The exhibition will showcase pristine photos taken by Eight Man’s photographer, Kouki Nishida. They, along with their photographer, have come with several magazines in Japan showcasing the beauty of all eight women either naked or barely clothed. With the tweet below, you’ll see the poster for the venue and their model of what the venue will possibly look like.

IV (Interviewer): I was going to ask you about the 10th anniversary, but then I realized it was your 11th anniversary.

Aoi: Oh, so it’s already been eleven years… (laughs) The year since the tenth anniversary has flown by.

IV: I’d like to ask you to look back on some of your past works.

Aoi: Yes, that’s right. I was impressed by the works that sold well. Especially this one (*Absolutely No Script!! POV Fucking! No Makeup! Anything Goes! Tsukasa Aoi Is Baring Her Erotic Basic Instinct To Fuck!! She’s On A Couple’s Hot Spring Trip And Fucking Her Brains Out In This Excessively Raw Super Raw 200% Eros Company Video)!

Actually, this is a work that I said I wanted to do, and they made it into a series at S1. Did you know that (laughs)!

IV: Here comes the planner, and it’s information that’s not even on Wikipedia!

Aoi: Hmmm… Tsukasa made this. You should probably write this down~ (laughs)

IV: Of course I will write! I’ll write it in bold letters!

S1 PR: There was also an actress who had already retired who said she wanted to end her career with this movie.

IV: That’s great! Do you have any idea why it sold so well?

Aoi: This was the first time I met the director, and during the interview before the shoot, he said, “I’ve never shot a frame-film (Gonzo movie) before,” and “If that’s the case, I’d like to include it in the film. But there are many ways to do a frame-up. There are those where there is staff around, those where it’s just the two of you, and those where you’re shooting with a fixed-point camera.

IV: There are many other patterns besides the one where the actor uses only one camera, aren’t there?

Aoi: But I said, “I want to be able to show myself, so I don’t want any of that. If there were other staff or cameras, I would end up acting or creating “Tsukasa Aoi,” so this time, I wanted it to be just the two of us and only one camera.

IV: That’s quite a request you made!

Aoi: At first, I was really stopped. From all directions (laughs). Even the producers. They said, “It’s impossible, there are no other cameras.”

IV: I can understand how you feel, Aoi, but it’s natural that people around you are against it. It would be terrible if there were any camera problems.

Aoi: But the main theme and purpose of this project was to “show myself”. So, not being conscious of the camera was the issue for me.

IV: I see. It’s been more than 10 years since you were a celebrity, so it’s only natural to have a camera. But it must have been difficult for you when you actually tried it?

Aoi: It was tough. I even cried afterward.

IV: What? You cried?

Aoi: Yes. It was the first time for the director not writing a script. So there was no script at all, just a rough flow of the play. It was like a trip with the director, just the two of us. Normally, we would have to decide in detail where and how many times we would have sex, and what positions we would use, but there were no such restrictions. It doesn’t matter where or how many times we do it, or if it’s just one time, that’s fine too.

IV: It’s like you’re filming two lovers going on a hot spring trip by yourselves.

Aoi: Yes. That’s why we start out on a normal date. We met once before filming, but we mostly met up at the station with people we had never met before. At first, I was a bit nervous… I’m not used to this, and I was a bit shy when I held his hand. I filmed the whole process of getting on the train, staying at the hot spring, and coming back. It was all non-fiction… And then it became a series.

IV: That was a bold move. This is something that would never happen to a popular actress.

Aoi: My first thought was that it was fine to shoot a Gonzo, but there was no point in doing a made-up Gonzo movie. That’s when I decided to break new ground in Gonzo as well.

IV: And you cried when it was over?

Aoi: I felt like I had done it all, and I felt relaxed afterward. I didn’t want to “expose myself.” I just did what I was told. I don’t mind doing what’s in the script. “I don’t want to show my true colors.” I had that feeling somewhere in the back of my mind. But this is also the first time I’ve shown it.

IV: It’s a complete burnout. When you hear that, it changes the way you look at the film.

Aoi: I think that’s why the director was probably exhausted. In the last scene, when we got to the station and say, “See you later,” he looked pretty sad. After that, I got in my manager’s car and drove home. It’s really non-fiction.

IV: I’d like to see more new aspects of you in the future.

Aoi: I’m thinking of doing many more things. For example, I’m thinking of doing a gravure for “Weekly Post”…

IV: This is a gravure project to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Eight man, the company you work for. It’s rare to see so many Eight man actresses gathered for a gravure, isn’t it?

Aoi: There’s nothing like this. It’s my first time.

IV: What does your agency mean to you, Aoi?

Aoi: It’s one of my places of residence… I guess.

IV: Did you find the large group gravure different from shooting alone?

Aoi: I took on the challenge in a normal and relaxed way. I said “I want to do this,” and that’s how this project came about. This is 10 years of “Tsukasa Aoi” itself. It’s a memory of Eight Man, but it’s also a memory of me. I think that’s how this work turned out.

IV: It all started with Aoi’s 10th anniversary, didn’t it?

Aoi: Yes. That’s why I think it’s different from everyone’s feelings, but I still wanted to do it for the first and last time.

IV: It’s really spectacular, isn’t it? Who did the direction?

Aoi: Basically, the cameraman, Mr. Kouki Nishida, but everyone naturally stood in their own places. I was in the middle, taking pictures all the time. For me, it was over the 10th anniversary. I think it’s a milestone for me. It’s not like I’m closing down Tsukasa Aoi, but I felt that if I did this, I could end it comfortably when the time came to end it…

IV: It’s not a retirement announcement, is it?

Aoi: It’s okay. No, it’s not. It’s a message to me, Eight man, that we’re making this happen. I also wanted to respond to that… to put it nicely, I’m making memories (laughs).

IV: That turn of phrase bothers me a little (laughs).

Aoi: It’s one of the ways to make memories of Eight Man. I think everyone came here with different feelings, but for me, one of the memories is that we all shared the same feelings. It was fun! That’s all I can say.

IV: It’s only because of Aoi-san’s achievements that she can give form to this.

Aoi: It was more fun for me to do this. I was so happy afterward that I cried a little.

IV: You were so happy that you cried afterward.

Aoi: I was happy, but I was also a little sad that the shooting was over, to be honest.

IV: Like the climax of a festival?

Aoi: That’s right. But the festival is still going on!

IV: It’s still going on!

Aoi: That’s right. I was featured in three consecutive issues of Weekly Post. After that, eight digital photo books (Shogakukan) were released. In addition, the photo book “8woman ~Eight Man Actresses’ Longest Day~” (Tokuma Shoten), which is a collection of off-shots from that day, was also released.

IV: It’s really great that they are being released beyond the boundaries of the publishing company.

Aoi: And here’s the most important thing…we’re having a photo exhibition!

IV: I’ll be there! It’s a grand development!

Aoi: So I wanted you all to see this…

IV: Do you have any idea what the photo exhibition will be like?

Aoi: Mr. Nishida has been active in gravure for a long time, but this is actually his first photo exhibition. So there’s really a lot to see. I can’t tell you everything yet, but they’re thinking of having larger than life-size photos, a space where you can take photos, and many other things. I’m also planning to be there.

IV: We’re going to meet Aoi!

Aoi: Yes. There are a lot of people involved in this gravure, and I’ve chosen makeup artists, stylists, and photographers who are all very meaningful to me.

IV: For Aoi, that is. So the overall producer is…Aoi-san!

Aoi: I’m allowed to do whatever I want (laughs). (laughs) I also have a photo exhibition coming up, but that’s still a secret.

IV: By the way, do these eight actresses usually get together?

Aoi: No, we don’t. Not at all. For some of the girls, this was their first time meeting each other. I don’t have many friends. So I’ve never hung out with any of the members.

IV: (laughs) So it seems like you’re connected by your feelings.

Aoi: That’s right. I feel connected to them, so I don’t think I need to play with them. It’s like we all have the same goal in mind. I also think that everyone loves Eight man.

IV: I think that’s why the photos have such a strong impact. Aoi-san has been in the group for 13 years, including her career as a celebrity. You are one of the earliest members of the group, aren’t you?

Aoi: That’s right. I’m the oldest one in this group.

IV: You said that this project will continue, but do you have a goal in mind?

Aoi: It’s not that I want to be like this, or that I’m satisfied with what I’ve produced. I’m doing this because I think it will work. That’s why I’m going to keep going without stopping.

IV: Do you have any plans for the future beyond porn?

Aoi: “Is there anything you want to do outside of porn?” I don’t know why everyone asks that (laughs). For example, do you want to work as an actress in general films?

IV: (laughs) For example, you want to be an actress in general films? I was wondering if you have any other goals.

Aoi: Hmmm. People often say, “Wearing clothes is the right answer, and it’s about expanding your activities,” but I want to change that, or I think I’m changing it. The meaning of what I’m doing now is that it’s okay to not wear clothes. That’s why I don’t like the fact that wearing clothes has become a form of justice. I think it’s fine to go on like this.

*Absolutely No Script!! POV Fucking! No Makeup! Anything Goes! Tsukasa Aoi Is Baring Her Erotic Basic Instinct To Fuck!! She’s On A Couple’s Hot Spring Trip And Fucking Her Brains Out In This Excessively Raw Super Raw 200% Eros Company Video

IV: I think it’s fine to just be a sexy actress.

Aoi: Yes. I hope that everyone who has appeared will become a leader in this field and say, “You don’t have to wear clothes. There are many ways to express yourself. This is the right answer.”

IV: Isn’t it wrong to think that the right thing to do is to graduate from being a porn star and become a celebrity or actress?

Aoi: I don’t think we live in that era anymore. It’s like, “It’s okay to have this way of expression.” I hope this will be an opportunity to start that.

IV: I think it’s a wonderful message for a world that recognizes diversity.

Aoi: Well, it may be different in general. I think there is such a thing as starting naked.

IV: Aoi-san, your thoughts, and messages have a core to them. It’s like interviewing an entrepreneur (laughs).

Aoi: I’m not interested in that kind of thing (laughs).

S1 PR: You’re not interested in that kind of thing. (laughs) Even for a woman like me, I’m interested in the fact that you can take such beautiful pictures and do such things.

Aoi: Yes. In a way, it’s also a message for women.

IV: A lot of your female fans are very passionate, aren’t they?

Aoi: That’s right. They’re thinking about me.

IV: Isn’t it hard to carry such feelings?

Aoi: Yeah, it looks like a lot, but it’s not as hard as it seems (laughs). It’s more like “follow me” than “carry me”. I want people to support me, but it’s more like, “I have to take you with me.” On the contrary, I have more faith in everyone. I don’t want to say, “Thank you for doing this,” but I always feel that I have taken it for granted.

IV: It’s all about determination. There are very few interviews with you, so the words you say are interesting, heavy, and wonderful.

Aoi: I don’t usually say this, but I have a lot of hidden things (laughs). I need to feel the feelings of the people who are following me…

IV: When this article is published, it will be right before the photo exhibition. I’m looking forward to it!

Aoi: Yes! I hope a lot of people will come!

Final Thoughts:

We will return with the 2nd part of Tsukasa Aoi’s anniversary interview. During that second part, we will hear more about her previous movies and some of her private life.

It’s quite interesting reading through Tsukasa’s mind and understanding how she is as a JAV actress and as a woman. Her thoughts, as Fanza has said, are very deep, and true – true to her heart. We rarely hear much of Tsukasa’s heart and mind but when we do, like this, we’re all ears.
