Takahashi: When I was about 14 years old, I went to a live music club for the first time, and I was shocked. Guitarists are the flowery type, aren’t they? Takahashi: I was terrible at it six years ago, too. I couldn’t even hold down a C chord. I knew a guy who was a professional guitarist. He told me that even if I was a beginner, having a good guitar would make me feel like I was going to get better and that playing a good guitar would help me improve my form and other things, so he wanted me to buy a good guitar first. Favorite Guitarist
Takahashi: I really like Matias Kupiainen, Paul Gilbert, and a blues guitarist named Johnny Winter. I listen to a lot of different genres. But Mattias Kupiainen is the one for me right now. I keep a notebook on my phone of guitarists I like from YouTube. I try to listen to a variety of genres. I wanted to incorporate the best parts into my technique, so I listened to a lot of different people and tried to get the best out of them. I was halfway good at it, so I thought if I was going to do it, I should practice properly (laughs). I wanted to have one special skill. I wanted a skill that I could do in front of people. So I’m going to practice hard.
Guitarists are Sexy

Loving Her Travel Guitar
Takahashi: I have six guitars now, all of them of completely different types. All of them are completely different, some have 7 strings, some are down-tuned, some are shaved for metal, and some are travel guitars. I made a portable folding guitar. It’s amazing, it folds up compactly, and it stretches out like a “snap” (laughs). I travel to various regions for work, but I can’t go out at night, so I stay alone in a hotel all the time.
