Ririko Kinoshita: Making a Beautiful Mature Woman
Question: Why did Ririko, who was a full-time housewife before her porn debut, decide to go into porn? The reason seems to have been her most fundamental desire as a woman.
IV (Interviewer): Ririko made her porn debut because she wanted to be seen as a woman… How do you think being seen is important for women?
Kinoshita: Yes. After six years of marriage, no one ever told me I was beautiful, and I lost my confidence. Besides, I feel that being seen as a woman and being praised is connected to my self-esteem.
IV: But why did you become an adult film actress?
Kinoshita: I’ve always liked JAV because it’s the best way to be seen as a woman since it’s a way for men to have sex alone. I’ve been a housewife since I quit my job as a welfare worker a few years ago, and my marriage is not bad, and we don’t have any problems, but my husband, who is the closest person to me to the opposite sex, doesn’t see me as a woman anymore and doesn’t tell me I’m “beautiful and sexy.” I felt an indescribable sense of loss. Kinoshita: I think so. It takes a lot of courage to expose your body or wear clothes that show off your body lines when you are in your thirties, but I always want someone to gently compliment me on my body. It’s kind of embarrassing to say this to myself, but I really like my body. That’s why I want to show it off.
IV: So, Ririko, what kind of care do you take on a daily basis to make sure you like your body?
Kinoshita: First of all, I always stand naked in front of a mirror every day and look at my whole body. I look at my body in various poses, from the front to the back, to see if my skin is looking good or if my hips are sagging a little. I go to hot yoga twice a week, and while looking at my posture in the mirror, I pay attention to the muscles that are bothering me and focus on them and work up a good sweat.
IV: I see that you value “seeing” at all times. How are you conscious of being “seen” by men?
Kinoshita: Although I say I want to be seen, I don’t like to attract attention by wearing erotic clothes that are obviously inviting to men (laughs). I like to wear a rough open knit top and tight jeans on the bottom or something that clearly shows the lines of my body on either the top or bottom. It takes a lot of courage, though (laughs). I like to be seen as a normal housewife who is not conscious of being erotic but is actually erotic.
IV: Don’t you hate it when men look at you in an erotic way?
Kinoshita: No, I don’t mind it. Even though I’m not conscious of being erotic at all, I think it would be ideal if I could exude sexiness.
IV: What is your ideal female image?
Kinoshita: I admire Keiko Matsuzaka (Japanese Actress) and Yuko Fueki (Japanese-Korean Actress). Both of them have a soft and gentle manner, a smile that warmly embraces those around them, and a face that is both innocent and mysterious. I feel that the gap between the two of them is the sex appeal that they exude. I also think that it is important to have a moderate heart for this kind of sexiness.
IV: What kind of heart movement is this?
Kinoshita: I once had a partner who was more than a friend and less than a lover, but our physical chemistry was very good. With that person, we genuinely wanted each other’s skin. But that didn’t mean that we were only connected by our sexual desires. We loved each other, we cared for each other, and our hearts were connected.
IV: Why did you break up if you were so moved by each other?
Kinoshita: I have a self-imposed deadline of three years. I think the third year is the most exciting time for a man and a woman to be together, and ending the relationship when it’s at its peak would leave me with some pretty intense memories. If we both have to end our relationship someday, I want to end it at the best time possible.
IV: Are you saying goodbye to him yourself?
Kinoshita: Yes, I do. Then, when I listen to various songs, or when I’m alone, I remember it, and it burns again. It’s painful…but I want to do it again with that person…and I enjoy the movement of my heart.
IV: It’s a very adult thing to do (laughs). For JAV, what do you tell your husband when you leave the house for a shoot?
Kinoshita: I make sure to tell him that I have something else to do (laughs). I’m grateful that the staff adjusts the shooting schedule so that it doesn’t take too long. But my husband has been changing a bit lately, hasn’t he?
IV: What are the changes?
Kinoshita: My husband has somehow become more aggressive (laughs).
IV: How did he come on to you?
Kinoshita: He never used to say that before, but now he says things like, “You have a nice body,” and “You’re beautiful,” and he touches me outside of bed. I think that’s why he asks for me more often.
IV: How does it feel to be in such a forceful mode, Kinoshita-san?
Kinoshita: Oh, it’s kind of nice (laughs). The way my husband looks at me has changed, and I’ve been able to experience sex in various situations on the set of an adult film.
IV: That’s wonderful.
Kinoshita: Of course, it was nice to have sex with a partner for a limited period of time like before, but there were times when my emotions were disturbed. But now, there are no such unexpected emotional disturbances on the set, and I feel that I am very much suited to pursue the eroticism that my fans are looking for.
