IV: The play was very natural. The play was developed very naturally.
Matsumoto: This was the first time I did a real drama. I wrote all my lines in a notebook the day before and kept writing until I learned them.

Matsumoto: That’s right. I bought a notebook and wrote until I memorized it. Once I had it memorized, I would write the lines on the next page. That’s what I did all the time.

Matsumoto: My fans often tell me they like it too.

Matsumoto: The part with the fan and the classmate was not really written in the script. They really just said, “Ichika, you do it.”
IV: So it was a free-for-all?
Matsumoto: No, that’s not it. First of all, before making this film, I talked about my own experience of love, and then she made it.

Matsumoto: I was told, “Think about what you would do if you were Ichika-chan,” so I did it. It was a scene that I thought didn’t go so well, so I was happy to hear that she liked it.

Matsumoto: I thought the story of the underground idol would be more in line with my real life.
IV: It’s based on real-life experiences.
Matsumoto: Scene 2 and scene 3 are based on that. When I told the story of my friend who I used to date who had a job like that, and how I stole away the person she loved, scenes 2 and 3 came to be like that, so I think that’s how I made them.
IV: Did that make it easier for you to get into the story? I mean, she cried at a very good time and in a good way.
Matsumoto: No, really, I just got into it and cried.
IV: Wahahahaha!
Matsumoto: I really cried, I couldn’t stop crying.
IV: That’s right, you couldn’t stop crying.
