(Hollywood, CA) Will Ryder has wrapped principle production of Artificial Heart for Adam & Eve Pictures. The sci-fi sexual thriller has Kira Noir in the lead role playing an artificial intelligence robot known as Dana. The feature movie also stars newcomers Tyler Cruise and Maria Kazi playing an innocent young couple Michael and Mandy.
The script originally read like a quaint Doris Day/Rock Hudson romantic comedy but that was before Ryder locked himself in a dark room and binged on Hitchcock and Blumhouse scary movies. Now, instead of Doris Day burning the dinner, all hell breaks loose.
“Well, it’s gonna become a pretty scary movie,” stated Ryder who also wrote the script.
Soon to marry his college sweetheart, Michael is offered a company cash bonus to beta-test a new ‘home helper’ artificial intelligence device. The naïve software engineer-in-training figures he’s got nothing to lose, and could use the extra money but the helpful robotic device, swiftly turns into a nightmare as Michael and Mandy become desperate to figure out a way to stop the out-of-control robot that has “fallen in love” with him and into a deep hatred for her. With their relationship fraying and time running out, the device plays havoc with her bank account, credit cards and social media as Michael develops sexual feelings for the beautiful robot. Soon Dana begins to destroy anything that stands between Michael and the insane algorithmic attraction the device has developed. Desperate to salvage their relationship, love hurts, love kills in this frenzied race against time as Michael and Mandy have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
“We absolutely loved the story when we first read it,” stated Rachel V, head of production for Adam & Eve Pictures. “Even with this being a thriller featuring artificial intelligence, there is still a very human element at the core, which makes this a beautiful love story, I think.”
“Yeah it’s a love story alright, with blood, knives and sheer terror,” added Ryder.
“This was a fantastic collaboration with my buddies Deanzy and Frank Bukkwyd and I do predict a movie-of-the-year nomination, because the acting performances, the story and my production crew were all just so good.”
Joining cast members Kira Noir, Tyler Cruise and Maria Kazi are Kiara Cole, Pristine Edge, Zerella Skies, Athena Anderson, Mazy Myers, Brad Newman, Rob Carpenter, Rusty Nails and Frank Bukkwyd.
