ART OF ADULT – Porn Classics Revisited – Blame It On Ginger – 1986

This week we go back to mid 80’s and the year 1986, a decade filled with ups and downs in the country and in the world. It was also a decade that would lead us into a new future. How much do you remember from thirty four years ago?

As we always do lets begin by taking a look back and what the cost of living was in 1986. The average price for a new home was just under $90,000, the average income was at $23,000,  the average price for a new car was around $10,000. Gas per gallon kept inching toward the one dollar mark and in 1986 was 91 cents a gallon. You could by a Tandy 600 portable computer for only $1600, but you could by 5 pounds of potatoes for $1. In some of the news headlines……Pan Am Flight 73 with 358 people on board is hijacked at Karachi International Airport by four armed men……..A bomb Explodes on a TWA jet over Greece blowing a hole in aircraft sucking 4 passengers out……..The Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrates after launch, killing all on board……..The Iran-Contra Affair took place in President Reagan’s administration that sold arms to Iran…….Mike Tyson becomes the youngest heavyweight boxing champion……..The Nintendo Entertainment system makes its debut as do transparent watches……..England and France announce plans to begin construction of the English Channel Tunnel, to be known as “The Chunnel”………The Internet Mail Access Protocol is defined and opens the way for E-Mail to begin.

In the world of entertainment the big movies of 1986 included Top Gun, Platoon, Crocodile Dundee and Aliens. In music the big names in 1986 were Billy Joel, Lionel Ritchie, Madonna, Van Halen and Prince. TV watchers favorite shows during the year included Magnum P.I., Hill Street Blues, The A-Team, Dynasty, Murder, She Wrote and The Cosby Show. Among the celebrities we lost that year were actor Cary Grant, I Love Lucy’s Desi Arnaz, musician Benny Goodman, baseball Hall of Famer Hank Greenberg and actress Donna Reed

In the world of porn there were a number of changes. Most films were being done on the west coast. The coming of video changed the look as VHS tapes were the thing. Many female stars began getting breast enhancements and having clean shaven genitalia. 1986 provided some excellent productions including the one we take a look back at today, “Blame It On Ginger”.

Blame It On Ginger – Vivid Films – Director – Henri Pachard – Cast – Ginger Lynn, Barbara Dare, Lois Ayres, Krista Lane, Tom Byron, Peter North, Jamie Gillis, Joey Silvera

If, for some reason, you have never seen a Ginger Lynn film, then this is the one to cut your teeth on. It’s a spoof of the Michael Caine, Valerie Harper, Demi Moore film “Blame It On Rio” that came out a couple of years earlier. The porn version is done semi documentary style as Ginger and her girlfriends relive some of their more fun sexual encounters. The friends find it hard to believe that Ginger’s boyfriend, Tom Byron, playing a nerdy guy to perfection, could be this hot lover she talks about. There is a lot more than goes on throughout as the stories are recounted and leads to some hot sex scenes. But it really heats up when the families go away for a beach weekend.  Ginger and her best friend, Barbara Dare, find themselves attracted to each other’s dads, Ginger’s played by a very straight domesticated Joey Silvera and Barbara’s played by a sexually in touch Jamie Gillis. The fathers both have girlfriends (Krista Lane and Lois Ayres), but they are not part of this “family” beach weekend. By the way, there is a scene with Dare and North you have to see, it is different.

As the weekend moves along both Ginger and Barbara are successful in seducing the fathers and have their sexual encounters with them. The scenes are very steamy, well filmed and show off some very good chemistry. Of course these hot encounters lead to some serious complications for all involved, especially Ginger and Barbara. But it all gets smoothed over through the tensions, the two girlfriends work everything out in a rather surprising way you will find quite stimulating. All’s well that ends well, especially with the final scene being a four way orgy that just smokes and puts a very hot and luscious ending to this fun film.

Ginger looks absolutely fantastic and beautiful throughout and her chemistry with Byron is very obvious in their scenes. Ginger’s sexual prowess is unmistakable, but what Barbara Dare, Krista and Lois add only make this film raunchier and hotter, including a very wild girl/girl that takes place at one point in the film. The cinematography by Pachard is exceptional with shots in the sex scenes that concentrate on the act, not the genital close ups. The acting is above average from the entire cast. It’s very clear they are all had a great time doing this spoof and giving it the realism it has. The production values are all top notch and Pachard’s direction flows very easily and natural. Ginger Lynn has done some great films throughout her career, and this is one of the best.

It’s available in DVD form with a lot of extras included and well worth having. If you want to get hold of a solid, fun, steamy and true porn classic, then “Blame It On Ginger” fits the bill and is one to have.
